Our Financial Advisory Services (FAS) practice offers preeminent advice to clients on critical financial and economic events and transactions facing their businesses. Within the FAS practice, our Valuation service line helps companies successfully realize the value of their assets in today’s rigorous regulatory environment by providing independent and well-supported valuations. We develop value conclusions under GAAP, tax, and regulatory rules that allow companies to understand the value of an entity, asset, or liability so they can make informed business and investment decisions. We help clients to properly quantify and articulate value for taxation, transaction, financing, litigation, strategic management and financial reporting purposes. Within the Valuation service line, the Business and Intangible Asset Valuation group carries out valuation of not just business entities but also their intangible assets like licenses, brands and trade marks, customer relationships, in-process research and development (IPR&D), patents, core technology, etc.
Qualifications:
Educational Background: Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, economics or general business management; plus:
- an MBA or similar advanced degree; and
- additional professional certifications such as the CFA will be an advantage.
Work Experience: Require 7-9 years of valuation or corporate finance-specific and/or general financial advisory experience in a professional services or investment banking firm or corporate environment:
- Familiarity with US GAAP and valuation principles regarding business enterprises and intangible assets
- Valuing companies based on discounted cash flow, comparable trading, and comparable transactions analyses;
- Building complex financial models utilizing Microsoft Excel
- Researching and analyzing industries and market data;
- Strong project and people management skills, with a focus on human relations, preferably in a professional services environment;
- Experience in building and leading growing teams and managing client relationships, preferably with a cross-border component; and
- Experience of managing multiple teams and projects concurrently will be an advantage.

Responsibilities:
Practice Building:
-
Develop and build relationships with business valuation professionals in the U.S. up to and including partners, principals and directors;

Develop familiarity with and manage the application of U.S. valuation methodologies and techniques in the delivery of products and services; and
-
Participate with U.S. business valuation professionals in the development and implementation of new products and services.
Practice Management :
-
Manage and supervise a growing team of business valuation professionals in India; facilitate communication between them and their U.S. counterparts;

Develop, monitor and control project plans; schedule the activities of a team of professionals;
-
Review work products and deliverables, and assist in the quality review of deliverables produced by the business valuation team in India; and
-
Conduct project and management review meetings with internal Deloitte teams.
People Development :
-
Participate in recruiting new staff;
-
Develop, coach and mentor junior and mid-level staff, inculcating the professional services culture; and
-
Monitor the continuing education and training of the team in India, technically and otherwise; and help to keep the team up to date with current best practice globally and in the U.S.
