Job Description:

Role: The main role of the selected candidate would be to set up ICT practice area. This would involve delivering existing content sets, building new products and also undertaking consulting assignments. The scope of research would involve tracking global markets.
The candidate hired would be required to work in close coordination with senior management in Ovum and Technology Business Unit of the company.

Key Responsibilities: -

  • Administer and manage the practice area: Manage the ongoing function of the Business Unit. Manage the Business Unit budget and set and control headcount. Monitor and improve productivity, quality and efficiency to ensure highest quality products are delivered at the prescribed time and financial targets are met.
  • People management and succession planning: Provide leadership to the Analysis function. Attract, develop and retain world class expertise in sub-groups and effectively manage the promotion process. Develop initiatives that improve knowledge, expertise, skill set, motivation and efficiency of individuals throughout the function. Act as the line manager for R&A staff and deal with staff grievances and any other staff issues.
  • Maintain an external focus to the industry and clients: Be able to handle and crisis-manage the most significant client negotiations and interactions in an effective and diplomatic manner. Work with other Business Units and the Sales and Marketing teams to build and maintain increasingly close relationships with the most significant clients. Negotiate with third parties on partnership opportunities as necessary.
  • Develop and utilise extensive content knowledge: Attain an overview understanding of the wider industry sector and develop understanding of complex content, to be able to communicate both externally in a PR context and internally. Use extensive content knowledge to develop and guide strategy and direction of the Business Unit function.
  • Assist senior management by participating in a wide variety of corporate initiatives: Contribute to wider Practice Area and corporate strategies. Develop a considered point of view with relation to all Sales and Marketing issues and corporate functions (for example Accounting, Human Resource Management and Investor Relations).

  • Advanced communication and interaction skills to handle the most pressurised situations internally and with clients.
  • Track record of delivering projects of high quality and value.

  • Excellent people management skills.
  • General Business Management skills, including a thorough understanding of marketing, new product development, human resources and operational planning.
  • Management professionals with at least 6 years experience in ICT / Telecom research.
