Reports To: Business Unit Head
Track: Business Development/Delivery
Job Level: Manager

Position Summary: Subject Matter Expert has extensive knowledge and thought leadership in several Insurance domain areas such as property and casualty, life and disability, reinsurance, actuarial, accounting, claims, underwriting, fidelity, surety etc. Some experience in IT industry designing computing solutions for Insurance business will be a plus.

Position Accountabilities

• Primary Accountability:
  • Convert opportunity pipeline to sales through sales support, solution architecture, business analysis, client interaction, proof of concept etc. Conversion rates in excess of 50% are expected leading to annual revenue of $3 million or more.
  • Provide front end leadership on new client engagements until the transition to Delivery Partner for ongoing project and annuity work is completed. Train the project managers and delivery staff on the solution and critical success factors.
• Other Responsibilities
  • Research and identify Solution/product partners for alliances.
  • Create white papers, sales collateral, case studies and other IP artifacts.
  • Guide the Business Analyst Team in subject Area.
  • Provide implementation support and training to clients
  • Monitor the industry and provide updates to Business Unit personnel on industry trends and best practices
  • As an industry expert, attend industry events and speak on Covansys Insurance solution offerings.
  • Other tasks/duties as assigned.

Security and Conduct Accountability: Adhere to all Covansys policies and procedures, including the Covansys Information Security Policy and the Covansys Code of Conduct. Based on employee”s responsibilities, adherence to additional policies may be required.

Education: Graduate Degree in Business, Finance, Sales Management or related field is required from a recognized college or university.

Experience: Minimum of 8 years total experience with at least 5 years in the subject area. This experience should have been gained working with a major Insurance carrier, Consulting firms or IT Services companies.

Other Qualifications:

• Demonstrated success as a Subject Matter Expert in Insurance industry.
• Demonstrated Expert knowledge in one or more of below mentioned Areas:
  • Insurance regulatory compliance
  • Expertise in Insurance Processes in P&C and Life.
  • Insurance Product Development
  • Actuaries
  • Desired experience with Solution Selling and technical delivery in Insurance Industry
