Dr. Pradeep K Mukherji - President, Tholons India
Experience: Pradeep, as the President of Tholons, heads the Global Outsourcing Advisory Practice. He was part of the founding team at Tholons. He has advised leading enterprises in US, Europe and ASPAC on strategic aspects of Services Globalization and Transformational Outsourcing. Pradeep brings to Tholons over 20 years of rich experience and expertise in Consultancy and Management of Technology Business. Pradeep has consulted and led engagements with many large Fortune-500 companies like- Hartford Life, Mercury, JP Morgan, Stanford University, Warner Brothers, Verisign. Norges Bank, AXA are some of the clients who have benefited from Pradeep’s expertise in global outsourcing.
As a part of Tholons’s Private Equity initiative, Pradeep is actively engaged with its partner organizations like RW Baird, American Orient & GSPAC to transform the operations of their portfolio companies, through leveraging services globalization. Pradeep also leads Tholons’s initiative to develop alliances across US, Europe and Asia.
Prior to joining Tholons, Pradeep was Managing Director with neoIT and was heading its Offshore Advisory practice. Prior to neoIT, Pradeep started his career at ESSO, where he was actively involved in optimization studies related to the Oil and Petroleum Sector. He joined the IT sector in early 80s and held key responsibilities in ICL-Fujitsu (UK) and Groupe Bull (France). He was instrumental in setting up one of the first Offshore Development Center in India for ICL-Fujitsu to address services in ASEAN, Africa and Middle East markets. He also managed and lead ICL-Fujitsu’s initiative to develop solutions for the banking and hospitality sector. He was also involved in setting up a Technical Helpdesk in India to support Bull’s GCOS operating system for users in Asia, Latin America and US.
Pradeep brings to Tholons, a unique blend of understanding of outsourcing from both the buyer and seller side perspective. He has implemented and managed large offshore delivery organizations having over 1000 employees, for multinational clients like United Airlines, Computer Associates, Singapore Technologies etc. These were setup to execute software development and maintenance projects and provide effective business process delivery. He has also directed the development and commercialization of software products for Hyatt Hotels and Healthcare Sector using off-shore resources. Pradeep has supervised and provided consultancy for implementing SAP, PeopleSoft and Oracle Financials to over a dozen clients, worldwide. He has managed ISO and CMM Certification for his previous organizations.
Pradeep’s deep knowledge regarding market requirement and insight into buyer-supplier relations, provides him a unique perspective on the risks and value of global delivery of IT and BPO services. His key strengths are in IT Consulting & Strategy including Offshore Sourcing Strategy, Operating Models, Cost/Benefit Analysis, Service Provider Evaluation, Global Risk Assessment and Management, Relationship Management, Investment Planning, Contracting and Program Management to ensure Performance Level and working to defined Service Level Agreement. He has been involved in imparting Offshore Knowledge to client, Country Analysis, Operating Structures, Governance Model, Finance Model, Risk Assessment and Mitigation, Vendor Evaluation and Contract Assessment and successful implementation and management of the off-shore centers for Fortune-1000 clients.
Education: Pradeep holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and a Doctoral degree in Management and Expert Systems. He has been active in the education field and has been a visiting faculty at IIM, SPJIMR and Boston University.
